Fr. Leon Strieder is a priest of the Diocese of Austin, and Associate Professor of Liturgy and Sacraments at the University of St. Thomas School of Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston. He studied Classical Languages at the undergraduate level, then studied theology and liturgy in Rome where he completed his doctorate in Sacred Liturgy at the Pontifical Athenaeum of Sant’Anselmo.
His doctoral dissertation, The Promise of Obedience: a Ritual History, was published by Liturgical Press. He has been teaching for 25 years in the disciplines of liturgy and sacraments with special interests in evangelization, popular piety, and interfaith dialogue.
